Yangjiamen Mixed-use Project is located in the heart of the historic city of Tongxiang. As the city undergoes comprehensive transformation, the design team hopes to reinterpret and convey the spirit of contemporary Tongxiang. The design was inspired by the profound meanings embedded in the Chinese character of Tong. In this time and space where the old and the new co-exist, the layering of [Yi], [Jiao], [Ye], [Lin] and [Jiong] as drivers of spatial systems were re-interpreted into spatial compositions that aim to seamlessly blend different character attributes into one cohesive public realm.
